Deepu- Perfection is impossible for anyone to achieve. But to strive to be more perfect is a noble goal. Thanks for dropping by.

Steve- Someone left a similar response in the Haloscan comments. Sounds like a good place to start.

Ottman- I suppose that if you only place value on money than you’re probably right. But believe it or not, there is more than money in this world. Money has become the idol of our society, dictating our morality and responsibility.

It may cost more in money to recycle until we create an infrastructure of recycling capability, but the cost in depleted resources and eventual human suffering due to the lack thereof will be a greater and more precious cost to bear.

If the future of our children and their children is not worth it, than we probably deserve what we have coming to us. Too bad future generations won’t have the chance to decide for themselves.

More money vs. environment, guess which one wins.

Seems you’re fighting a losing battle as most people I’ve talked to have concluded that recycling just isn’t worth it anymore.

In other words, when someone wants to get rid of old junk, (s)he puts an ad up for it online, and someone volunteers to take it off his/her hands.

There’s no money involved, just doing the exact sort of thing you described.
